Module 9: Basic image processing

Processing image files is a process of editing that file. Programs such as LibreOffice Writer, Microsoft Word, LibreOffice Impress, Microsoft PowerPoint, all have basic tools for editing images. There are also specialized software for editing images, such as: open source GIMP; commercial software: Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro; a list of commercial and free software for editing digital photographs can be found at Wikipedia.org, link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_raster_graphics_editors

The tutorial given below is featured in GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) – software that is free to access, download, distribute and make changes within code.

Firstly, download GIMP from this link: www.gimp.org/downloads and install it on your computer.
